  1. In VirtualDubMod I opened an xvid file clicked Streams --> Stream List and clicked Demux. When I try to save the file as MP3 nothing happens as the progress bar just doesn't move. I got it to move on one occasion but after a few seconds it stopped. Any ideas what the problem is?

    Thanks alot.

Can you just save the audio as a wave file then convert it using Gold Wave?
    Hello.

  3. Nope, after a few hundred kilobytes it freezes again but the "Total time (estimated)" keeps going up

Just noticed i'm getting a ton of this error in my log:

[!] Dub: Processing thread has not cycled for ten seconds -- possible
    livelock. (Thread location: 7C90EB94)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks alot.

Well, have you tried loading the video file into Gold Wave, then saving the audio as a MP3 file?
    Hello.

Better yet load into GOLDWAVE and save as a PCM WAV audio file.

  8. I just tryed opening the video in GoldWave and the progress bar got to 100% then it started taking ages and eventually it said 'Could not write to file. No storage available or device not ready.'. I looked Under Options --> Storage and the drive that holds the temporary folder has plenty of space free. Any ideas?

    Thanks alot.

You can also demux it in AVI2WAV and AviMux . Also, run the thing through DivFix to ensure the file is OK.

  10. I managed to solve the problem and save to MP3. Now the problem is with BeSweet. I'm trying to convert the mp3 to mp2 but the log file gives me:

    [00:00:00:000] | Input : d:\DS\frg1.mp3
    [00:00:00:000] | Output: d:\DS\rg1.mp2
    [00:00:00:000] | Floating-Point Process: Yes
Error 46: Invalid combination between SSRC values & FRC values.
    Quiting...
    [00:00:00:000] Conversion Completed !

    Any ideas?

Convert the Mp3 to WAV first, then try it through FFMPEGGUI

  12. Will FFMPEGGUI convert the frame rate of the audio from NTSC to PAL for me?

It will change the bit rate and sampling rate. There is no such thing as PAL vs NTSC audio.

You want to do this first (convert from MP3 to WAV).

Then use BeSweet and the built-in NTSC (23.976fps) to PAL (25 fps) option to fix the length. So in this step you will go from WAV to WAV.

Once you have your corrected-for-length new WAV file then you can use BeSweet or ffmpeggui or whatever to convert that WAV to AC-3 format.

    So MP3 to WAV
WAV to WAV doing the FPS change option
    Then WAV to AC-3

That is the best way to do it.
