I have converted a bunch of TV shows to mpeg-2 elementary streams, and I can verify that they import into DVDSP 3 OK. My confusion surrounds how to tag the DVD and the video streams within it with respect to 16:9.
The DVD is meant for an in-car widescreen DVD player, therefore I've transcoded all of the files into 16:9 with letterboxing and using QT to decode.
Question #1
Under the Disc inspector, there is a field that says "Menu Display" and there are two choices, including "Force to Letterbox" and "Force to Pan-Scan". Is this in case I decide to play the 16:9 DVD on a 4:3 set?
Question #2
When I open the Track Inspector, there is an option called "Mode" that has four options including 4:3, 16:9 Pan-Scan, 16:9 Letterbox, and 16:9 Pan-Scan & Letterbox. Which should I choose, and how are they different?
Thanks!
