I'm new at this DVD Recorder thing, Just got my LVW-5045. I was wondering what speed do you use most often? My favorite seems to be LP. Also, how do you manage your DVD collection? For example, Do you put on complete feature (like movies) on the DVD then put the start or half of the next feature on a DVD and continue on to second DVD? I just want to get a handle on what others are doing. Thanks a bunch for the replies and suggestions.

Ugh...Heh...uhmm...You're going to have to do a lot of re-authoring, if you're going to be using DVD's and keeping their original menu's, as well as starting to put SOME of another movie, with menu's on it, as well.... When you say DVD Recorder, I assume you're talking a stand alone, not a DVD-Writer etc. I dont think recorders will copy a disc, especially not a copyright protected disc...so preserving the menu's using that might become a real problem, heh.

TV series: 1 to 3 episodes per DVD-R, XP, SP or FR
Movies I record myself: 1 per disc in FR mode or SP
I have a Panasonic E80H.
Discs are cheap now. I just bought 100 Maxell 8X -R last week for $50CAD. 50 cents per disc is lower than I usually have to shell out for CD-Rs...
