Will post some scans soon. This was some of the media I bought before I realized how important quality was... It was burned at 4x, on an NEC 2500.

Ok, this stuff is wierd. Sometimes I get scans like this, and I really dont know why. This is a rated 4x scan. At max, it scans much better, though. I'll post both.

Here is the max speed scan.

NOTE: D'oh! I thought I saved the original, but it looks like I only saved my copy where I had removed the PIF spike. (It had 1 spike at 96). Just so everyone knows..

  7. I've used this stuff before, I'll post a scan if I have one saved or if I can dig up one of these discs :P

I wouldn't trust those numbers on the max test, 4x is pretty well the standard for testing and getting reliable results (yeah I know you already know this though ). Your 4x test looks marginal, a good player would probably play it ok, but a pickier player would probably choke alot.

  11. scan the disc at 4x, that is the standard at the clubcdfreaks site......and if u wish, u can use the cg4e firmware, it is an optimized version..use it with ominpatcher, if you want to customise the firmware..i.e.autobitsetting, increase read speed...etc....--->http://codeguys.rpc1.org/index.html

Worst media I ever used. Got 50 free as Kypermedia when I bought my first burner. If they weren't coasters right off the bat, they were after a few months went by. Spend the extra money and get something decent. It saves money in the long run and saves lots of aggravation.

  15. I knew I had at least one scan somewhere, here's two scans of the same disc. The disc was Sonic branded, and it was burned at 4x on my trusty old NEC 1300 :P (what a great drive it has been for me ):

I know it is a full Gig short of a full disc, but it was the scan I had. I'd imagine it wouldn't fare so well near the edge of the disc, but these discs I bought were super cheap just used for backups, they were like $7 shipped per 50 because they had scuffs and scratches on the outer half inch of the discs. So I don't bother burning to the edge on them anyway, but clearly they burned fine if not burned all the way to the edge (actually they burned damn well, as you can see :P ).
