I dont know if this is the proper forum to ask for help with Final Cut but maybe there is a chance someone had the same issue.
I have a G4 mac 733 with like 1 gig of ram and 40gig HD and with 2 firewire drives. When we upgraded to OS X 10.3 panther and FC HD Pro the system would lose audio files and this symtom was not present before. SO I downgraded to Final Cut 3 and OS 9 and it was working great for a while but its starting to have the same problem. Any clue as to what is causing this? I not familiar with FC and I am going by what they tell me.

What do you mean by "lose audio files"?...Please elaborate a little...

I got some clarification from the user.
When we had the mac on OS X and HD Pro when rendering the audio and video files would disappear.
The issue with both HD and now with FC 3 and OS 9 importing complex graphics opens for a project will skip frames etc. -
Hmmm...Strange...Never happened here...I know that there is a few problems with PAL projects unresolved yet even in HD version, but I never lost my files during rendering...Maybe your problem is somehow disk related...Try to check your HDDs with Disk Warrior...
