  1. Im using pinnacle 8 for the first time but Im having probs using it for cutting.
It seems to me it only allows you to make one cut for each clip on the timeline. If I have a clip thats 20mins long then I may want to make 3-4 cuts in that clip not 1 . Am I missing something obvious here? How do I do this?

    thanks

Back when I used Studio 8 I never had a problem cutting as many times as needed. Just drag the cursor to where you want to cut and make the cut, then drag the cursor to a new point and make another cut.

  3. e.g. when I drag the clip from the video "album" to the "movie window" the only option it seems to give me is to drag the clip in from the right, ie shortening the end of the clip or, draging the clip from the left, ie shortening the begining of the clip.

It doesnt seem to give me the option of cutting in the middle. Make any sense to anyone??

I'm not a Studio 8 fan but I have it and yes you can.

Drag the clip down. Double click on the clip to open the edit window.

Then trim an in out point. Hit the little X up top to send that portion to the timeline. Pull down the same or a different clip to the timeline and repeat.

This way you can make as many cuts of a clip as you wish.
