  1. Hi, is there anyway to password protect a folder in a way that allows you to view it without having to extract it other than zip?

    Thanks

How are your accounts set up on your computer? i.e., do you have your own, password-protected account and do other users have their own accounts?

If so, simply ensure that only your account has access to the folder (via the security settings for the folder). Anyone else who logs into their account will not be able to access the folder - unless they have admin rights. So, if the computer is administered by someone else, they'll be able to access it.

If, however, you have a shared account on the computer (i.e., no password set for it) and it isn't an admin account, then an admin (via the admin account) can configure the folder's security settings to allow only you to access the folder. As before, if there is a separate admin account that isn't yours, the admin will be able to access the folder.

If neither of the above work, you'll need a third party solution as suggested by TooLFooL, AlanHK and aedipuss.
