    when compressing to ~700mb DivX with CBR 128 mp3 audio, is it best to rip the 6 channel or 2 channel ac3 file from the dvd? does it make a difference??

    sorry if this has been asked before, please point me to the tutorial if there is one on this..

    Hello,

    Well it really shouldn't matter since mp3 is stereo only. Though to save storage space during ripping use the smaller 2 channel file (and there would be little or no change in the source file since it would already be stereo and not need to be changed).
