  1. Ive recently purchased this burner about 6 months ago ... and ive only burned a few 100 dvd successfully.

But recently my burner been screwing up. I would burn data and it would finish 100% burning but when i read the data off i always get a redundancy cycle error.... either that or a currupted burn which then renders the data useless.

I use nero and i have the latest firmware what could be the problem?

Ive already wasted 30dvd in the past week... and i am very angry due to this waste.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

  2. I would try this site : http://codeguys.rpc1.org/index.html and follow these steps below...... u can download a optimized firmware...just follow please

    download this --> http://codeguys.rpc1.org/patchers/dvdrw_omnipatcher-1.3.18.rar

and this --> http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/832S.CG4E.patched-cf.rar (it's a modifed version of the official firmware, kinda more optimized)

Follow these steps: unrar the files when u have downloaded them
    1. run omnipatcher
    2. go to "load" and load the firmware u have juz downloaded "832S.CG4E.patched-cf"
    3. click on "apply recommened dvd media tweaks"
    4. tick the following: increase dvd+r/r9......., enable auto-bitsetting
    5. go to "save" and name it wotever u want.
    6. exit the program and load the file u just created, make sure u update the right drive. that is it, restart when asked....

  3. Excellent instructions vdk_au!
I just "upgraded" my 451s to 832s w/dual layer 8x +R support, and it's easier to do than it is to explain

I'm wondering if its your media. Remember brand means nothing, the media id code is how you tell what you're burning. Update the firmware and check the media id of the successful discs vs. the bad ones- I'd be willing to bet they are not the same. Use dvdinfopro to check media id

    GOOD LUCK

  6. Thank you vdk! Your Advice worked wonderfully!

Ive recently from the last time youve posted burnt 3 dvd successfully without any errors! Thank you so much.

If anybody has time could you explain to me why dvd burners shows up as 100percent burning finish but then when you load up the written dvd it shows redundancy error. I would like to know for future preference.

Oh and the brand i used was Memorex. It usually worked but i dont understand why it messed up the last 30 times.

Ive also read that uninstalling SP2 from your pc causes alot of software and driveer errors could that be why my burner messed up?
