Hi there
Got a lite-on dda110 dvd recorder, it's a couple of years old and was working well up until recently, now it seems to be having difficulty with DVD-RW discs
Several discs I had recorded programs on using the recorder now won't read on the player. It says "reading" but never displays anythign beyond that.
One disc that it was able to read, when I tried to erase it wouldn't do so. Instead I got a message saying "change discs".
I tried putting a fresh DVD-RW disc into the player, I got an error message saying "invalid disc".
Tried a cleaning disc, but still the problem persists.
*Edit - a quick addendum, tried putting in a blank dvd+r disc to see if would read that. I got an "invalid disc" message with that too.
Is it time for a new recorder?

Assuming you are using a quality media (ie: Verbatim), It would be safe to assume the player is failing. If you are using a different media, then I would suggest first trying a quality media.
