  1. After seeing the advert for Wannadoo broadband (unlimited 1mb broadband for £17.99 a month) I thought its time I got back on the net at home. I've just checked out the website and the 1mb connection at £17.99 a month is far from unlimited, infact its capped at 2Gb a month ! So with this in mind I thought I'd ask the good (UK) folks here at VCDHelp for their suggestions on UK ISPs. I'd also like to note that these have to be ADSL as I ain't cable enabled.

I know Japanese that think AOL is the biggest thing to hit Tokyo; after Godzilla. "THEY SO STU-PID!"

AOL is an embarassment and should have "AMERICA" removed from their title. I will say they were a large cause of people connecting to the internet during the late 90's. After 2000, people got smarter. I hear AOL is growing fast in South Africa. Are you a SAOL BROTHER?

They should have the on-line dropped from the name as well.

Craig is right, I've had pipex for about threes years and its been fantastic. 24 quid, unlimited downloads. Their newsgroups aren't the best, but none of us goes there

You might want to consider Claranet or Demon.

Under no circumstances go to NTL, AOL or TISCALI.

PS, if you go for pipex, say I sent you, I get free holiday vouchers!

  12. I am also a Pipex fan, been with them for just over three years. I have just upgraded to their 2mb service.

Excellent customer service and I think it has only ever gone down on me once.

Have you checked out the www.adslguide.org.uk yet? (Just wonderin)

The best providers I would say are
    Eclipse, Pipex and Nildram

Although at the moment, Zen Internet are pi**ing all over all of these in Speed, reliability and customer service!
