Greetings.
I'm looking for a guide that tells me in detail how to install and configure a media player with popular codecs(divx, xvid, indeo, mpeg2, etc.), and in what order I should install the codecs.
Thank you.

Hello,
The mpeg2 codec comes with your dvd player software. Or you need the mpeg2 plug in to do vobs in tmpgenc.
Just install the codec when you need it. And avoid all-in-one codec packs. They cause more problems then they solve. When you need a codec install it. Lame mp3 is a good free mp3 codec.
Gspot can tell you what codecs an avi file has. Then you can use that to determine what you might need.
Check the tools section under LISTS on the left <------ to find more.
