I have created several home movies from AVI files from a Sony digital camcorder. I've then edited them using Nero Vision 5 and then burnt them to DVD.

Unfortunately, when trying to play the DVDs in WMP 11 the picture is there, but will not play the audio. All other DVDs (shop bought movies and DVDs recorded from my HD/DVD recorder) play OK.

The DVDs play Ok in Power DVD and in my HD/DVD recorder

Various forums suggest that it is a Codec missing, however, I have downloaded and installed AVIcodec, but the video and audio details shows the codec as "supported".

    Am I missing something?

    Any help appreciated.

Just checked File/Properties/file in WMP while playing an Audio-less DVD - the Audio codec and Video codec details are blank...is this right?

    Fixed it!

Came across K-Lite codec tweak tool. It showed that the AC3 Filter was "broken".
Installed a new one...everything playing fine now
