  1. Hello everyone,

I just installed Windows XP Pro SP2 on my home PC. The installation automatically found my ATI AIW Rage Theater 128 32MB and put the followings to my system:

Display adapters driver version driver date
    All-In-Wonder 128 AGP 6.12.3279.0 9/26/2001

    Sound, video and game controller
ATI WDM Rage Theater Video N/A 9/26/2001
ATI WDM Specialized MVD Codec N/A 9/26/2001
ATI WDM Specialized PCD Codec N/A 9/26/2001
ATI WDM TV Audio Crossbar N/A 9/26/2001
ATI WDM TV Tuner N/A 9/26/2001

I would appreciate if anyone can give the instructions on how to install the latest and compatible MMC.

    Thanks in advance.

It is not on the ATI site. They give you 2001 drivers and ATI MMC 7.2 (yuck). The 128 PRO can handle the install because of THEATRE chipsets. However, the RAGE3D hacks/install guides are flawed and incomplete. There are ways to do it properly, but it's very detailed.

you could probably use MMC 7.7 with few installation problems...

I have the AIW card a step lower, and use 7.7...(wierd thing, my card uses the same drivers under XP Home as your card...according to ATI's site...)

    MMC 7.7 is here: http://mirror.ati.com/support/drivers/misc/mmc7-7-0-1-nodvd.html

be sure to uninstall everything about your current setup...good guide here: http://www.pcphotovideo.com/ati.htm

    hope this helps...

ATI MMC 8.x has VideoSoap and better DVD encoding ... good reason people want it more.

All-In-Wonder 128 AGP will work with MMC 8.X (the latest 8.9). It does not work with 9.X. MMC 7.7 is too buggy.
