  1. Correct me if I use the wrong term.

    Issue 1.
    I Transfer a DV from my JVC miniDV camera to my PC through firewire using ulead VS 7. Now the DV files on my PC works fine ( no drop frames, etc. ), when i play the DV files on MPC and WMP9 I only got video, no audio, but then there is no such error about audio as I launch the player.

    Question:

    1. DV files only play video on any media player?
    2. Where is the audio?

    Issue 2.
    With my DV files (clip) I tried to create a DVD and VCD using ulead VS7 (no editing, no setting change). Both of the created files is burned on CD-RW.

    Both CD-RW is played on standalone DVD player. The result:

    1. VCD = OK
    Video = OK (vcd quality)
    Audio = OK (sync)
    2. DVD =
    Video = OK (better thn VCD)
    Audio = BAD (Cannot understand, kind of woobly, don't even know if its sync or out of sync)

    Question:
    1. What went wrong with my DVD encoding using same PC hardware, clips, CD media (CD-RW), Ulead VS7, standalone player?

    PS: I use gspot and DVD is mpeg-2, VCD is mpeg-1

    Hope you good people take time to answer my post.

    Cheers...

    It may also be an audio codec as well. Try GSpot, and let it tell you what you have, and what you need.

    Probably the sound codec. DVD audio must be 48000 Hz, while VCD is 44100 Hz. If the the audio is the same frequency on both disks, the DVD audio would be distorted.
    Hello.

  7. Okey, so where to locate this codecs? Ulead still needs a CODEC (third party) to encode DVD or VCD?

    I play both disc on a standalone pioneer DVD player and watch it on TV.

    I am thinking you may need to make sure the sound is right. Check your preferences and make sure your sound is correct.
