  1. Sorry for asking two questions in a very short time, but I just got a problem when I tried to burn out a movied that I had ripped with dvd decrypt and used with dvd shrink.

When I try to burn it with DVD decrypt it says; "Disc needs to be formatted"

What does this mean? It's a NEC Dvd+r disc and I got a Philips DVD+rw burner.
    Can it be the discs?

EDIT; I've also tried to burn it with Nero, and it says that it's an illegal disc... I guess I should try to use some other discs.

  2. Ahh, now I got it fixed. My DVD-burner can only burn +RW discs...

Your burner should also be able to burn either -R or +R. What model # is the burner?

The DVD + format is RW and that includes both +r and +rw media.

It's doubtful that you have a drive that only uses +rw media.

Some really old HP burners could do only +RW, was fixed by a factory recall or FW update, do not remember cleary.

If I am reading this right, you are wrong. +R does not allow content that has been burned to the disc to be erased, even in favour of new content. This is a key criteria for any medium that can be said to be RW without questions of fraud.

I'm saying that all of the plus media format is RW which is further broken down into the +r and +rw catagories.
    +r media is not rewritable.
I think this confuses some people into thinking they can only use +rw media.

Am I the only one confused by this wording?

  9. The very first plus burners write DVD+RW's only and there's nothing you can do about it.
