  1. Can someone tell me what a half-bitrate DTS track is please? They're usually around 768kbps on DVDs, right? Is this normal or can you get them higher than this?

    that is 1/2 rate ... 768kbps

    full rate is double that

  3. So can you not tell if you buy a DVD if its half-rate or not? Also, why do some DVDs have half-rate and some have full-rate?
