    I thought I posted this question in this forum but I don't see it any where. How do I reduced a photo from my files down to the max allowed for an avatar. Thanks

    Try using Photoshop or Paint shop Pro.

    Open it up in Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or even Windows Paint and select "resize" (Paint = "Stretch and skew").

    With Paint, you'll need to do a little maths or guesswork to get the correct size, but you can confirm it by hovering the mouse in the bottom right corner. If it reads the dimensions you require, you're sorted!

    I don't know where to place this either, so Newbie/General will do fine. Nice choice.
