  2. When I get back home, I am going to do this. Hell of a hobby to make your own projector.

FYI, on Tom's page, they said that the $19.99 "guides" are rubbish. They had a pretty easy to follow guide when I looked through it.

  4. I have been doing more reading (gone to the DIY site for projectors) and its like an underground thing, sorta like this site in a way....

For you video enthusiasts that have pushed the envelope on video, this would be a great "next" hobby to get into. I cannot wait to do this. Does anyone here have any experience making these and could they share their experiences?

here are pictures and diff designs, some of the home made ones are very close to a $3000 ones, look for old over heads at flea markets, lcd that don't work, most of the time back light is burnet and they will work fine, you can pick one up for less than $40. i havent done it yet but i will and will post my results i think it would be great if we can start a new topic on this here.

Man, you think my parents will ever give me 2gs to buy a projector to watch movies.

It seems like a fun project for me but my room is pretty small so I don't know if it will work for me.
