How come I only get speeds of 4x,6x,8x, and 12x on the media? It says 1x-8x on the spindle. It says those speeds 4,6,8,and 12 are supported on dvd decrypter.

I have 1.18 on my Pioneer 108. So 1x is longer supported anymore? I use Maxell which is TYG01 and has speeds of 1x 2x, and 4x. Why on 8x don't they support 1x or 2x anymore? Lordsmurf what media do you recommend for PS2 backups? Every media is different, right? Some can burn at 1x and others cant? Or what speed do you recommend burning PS2 backups? Would 4x be ok? I can only get 4x,6x,8x,10x, and 12x on the 8x Verbatim DVD+R.

Is there anyway to go back to 1.14? Could it be that 1.18 wont allow no more 1x or 2x? It says 1x-8x on the spindle.

it doesn't matter if 1x or 2x speed is not listed.....if the media is 4x speed burn it at 4x, 8x at 8x......there is no reason to burn 1x or 2x since most burners are much faster than that....allowing 1x or 2x has nothing to do with the firmware 1.18....i see you've posted this same question at the firmware page forum..... http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=32022
