If Someone sends me a video they made on a MiniDV tape, will I be able to play that in my Sony DCR-TRV530?

No, the DCR-TRV530 is a Digital8 tape format.
The DV signal standard on the MiniDV and Digital8 is the same but the tape format is different. You will need to borrow a MiniDV camera and dub the tape (without loss) via firewire (IEEE-1394).
