after decrypting, video_ts folder is about 7,71 gb. with clone dvd v3.0 i set 4,7gb disc and "compress to fit into one blank disc". removed unwanted langugaes and subtitles.
in the next step program shows "disc #1 input size (7326mb), output size (4489mb)". looks like everything is ok.but.
but, after long long operation (about 5 hrs), output file is 5.38gb. what's wrong? maybe older version of clone dvd doesn't makes such things?

Use DVDShrink. Never had any probs with that app - decrypt and shrink to fit (and burn, if you want) in one go.

Yes, I have that thread in fond memory. But that evolved to splitting a DVD9 to 2 DVD5, if I read it right. Here, you want (parts of) a DVD9 to fit a DVD5, and to that end, DVDShrink is what I urge you to use! If you can remove enough to make remaining fit a DVD5, DVDShrink won't transcode at all, else the remaining parts will be transcoded to whatever size you set DVDShrink to target.

i know all this. i tried it.
but the matter is quality of video. quality after shrinking is poor. i can't remove more unwanted things to increase quality.

...but you can't fit 7.71 GB on a 4.37 GB disc, no matter what application you use, without making it smaller, which in this case equals reducing quality. Qualitywise, I bet DVDShrink is very similar (=indistinguishable) to CloneDVD - they are both transcoders, and work according to the same principle.
What will give you better results is to reencode your movie using some mpeg2 encoder like CCE, ProCoder & cetera.
