    Hi guys,

About a week ago I installed the cd ripping software "furio", didn't like it and uninstalled it. Ever since, I'm unable to eject my DVD drives manually using the front buttons. The drives will eject manually after a fresh startup, but after putting in a disc they refuse to eject it - so I have to go to my computer, click the drive and click eject (sometimes repeatedly) to get the disc out. Also, the drives will continue spinning the disc, as if trying to read it, even when it's not being accessed. Auto-play/insert notification is not working on either drive either, even though I have it checked in the settings. I have an LG-4082b and a NEC ND-1300a. I've tried deleting/re-installing both drives with no success.

Anyone have any advice on what's causing this or how to correct it?

    Much thanks,

    Roy

  2. I had a similar problem a while back when software was accessing my drives way past when I was done. Short of a clean install I would try a program such as startupcop or something else and see if there is a background application using your optical drives. Good luck. I finally went to XP and solved it.
Still a few bugs in the system...
