My faithful Samsung TS-H552U DVDRW drive, which I have had for almost two years, suddenly won't eject its tray! When I press the eject button, it just blinks a couple of times and then does nothing. Same thing when I try to eject through software. BIOS identifies it fine and so does Nero InfoTool. I didn't change any system settings before it stopped ejecting. I updated the firmware, which didn't help. This is pretty weird since the drive seems to be working except for the fact that it doesn't eject. Please help!

BTW, no ejaculation jokes... this is serious. :P

  2. I'll assume that you have tried rebooting your PC & that it continues to not eject?
It may just be worn out - 2 years is a long time for a DVD-RW

Sure sounds like a hardware failure.

Most CD and DVD drives use a plastic gear to eject the drawer. They wear out.

Use an unraveled paper clip in the eject hole to be sure nothing has jammed the drawer.

Just a last resort kind of thing; have you tried opening the device manager and uninstalling and reinstalling the burner's driver? Seeing that you are experiencing no other problem with the unit, I doubt a driver is the source of your problem, but it costs nothing but a little time to try.

Well, I stuck in a paper clip while the computer was on and the drive magically ejected. Now it works again. May have been a jam, or a sign of a dying drive. Either way, thanks!
