I have a dual-boot system, 98SE on one partition, XP Home on another, with a 2nd hard drive dedicated to capture only. Recently, I bought a Hauppauge PVR-150 capture card. On the XP partition, it installed and works flawlessly. But on the 98SE partition, and following the installation manual provided, it froze up when it tried to install the drivers.

After a few failed attempts, I popped out the installation CD and looked at it ... and it only includes drivers for XP/2000 systems (sigh). I called up Hauppauge tech support and they said they no longer support 98SE installations. That's kind of a pisser, seeing as how the manual has 98SE installation instructions. And, although they've wisely updated their website (this is very recent, since I've seen 98SE mentioned there before) to indicate only XP/2000 compatability, a lot of sellers out there haven't included that little gem of information on their sales pages ... leading unsuspecting 98SE users to buy a product they can no longer use.

In any case, since I planned on using the PVR-150 exclusively in an XP environment, it's not a big deal. But, in order to keep that niggly "New Hardware Found" window from popping up each time I boot up on the 98SE partition, I have to disable 2 hardware profiles.

But ... this got me to thinking about something.

This change of support is recent. So, while Hauppauge no longer has downloadable drivers for 98SE, there are probably a few third-party sites that do. Just for the heck of it, I'd like to really install the drivers for 98SE ... even though I might not use the device on that OS ... so I don't have to look at yellow question marks and exclamation points every time I open up system settings in 98SE via the control panel. And, I'd like to "archive" such drivers just in case someone else needs them ... or in case I change my mind about trying to use the device in a 98SE environment.

So ... does anyone know of a 3rd party site where I can download Win98SE drivers for the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 (not MCE type)??? I'd appreciate a link to such a site.
