Ok so my problem is that I tried to use xcopy to backup a DVD. It wouldnt work for some reason, and I saved the files that xcopy put into a folder. The vob files all play back correctly, but there may be a problem with the IFO files, I am not sure though.
Now the ironic thing is, that in my frustration i managed to deeply scratch the original DVD, and is now unplayable and unreadable. So all I have left to work with are the backup files.
Does anyone know of any way to "fix" the DVD as a whole? To rebuild missing IFO files, or whatever the problem may be. Or should I just delete everything and buy again?

I can only think of a couple of things to try
1. Look for files with the extension BUP - it stands for BackUP. Copy these and change the extension to IFO and see what happens.
2. IFOEdit *may* be able to recreate the IFO files, assuming this is your problem.
3. Use an authoring app like DVD Lab or Tmpgenc DVD Author to load the vobs in, make new menus, then output compliant structures for burning.Read my blog here.
