    Hello,

Do you have a capture card?? If so just set your card to channel 3 or 4 (whichever is your areas default for vcr over coaxial hookup - ie no channel on that number). Then just record as much of that as you need.

Other than that have you done a yahoo search for "test pattern" or "static"???

I HAVE seen a video clip of snow/static. I'll look around, it's been several weeks since I happened upon it on some website.

I made one for a project - if a good link doesn't turn up by tomorrow night, I'll post the file (have to dig it off another machine, so I can't do it now).

Sadly, my capture card doesn't have a tuner and the VCR I have attached to it is too smart; it won't pass static... replaces it with a nice blue-screen.

have you done a yahoo search for "test pattern" or "static"
Yep. Amazing how many times the words "static" and "test pattern" appear on the 'net. I've tried all sorts of combinations and still can't find anything.

Just like a good count-down strip (which I have), it's one of those strange clips that is useful to have around.

You might be able to shut off the bluescreen in your vcr setup menu, something like mute picture if no signal.

    canadateck,

    Thanks! That's perfect.

I was not looking forward to trying to figure out how to change the settings on my 15 year old VCR.
