  1. I have an MSI GeforceTI2 with VIVO and was wondering what your experience has been say, converting Hi8 home video to DVD compatable format? I used to have a Matrox card with dedicated processing on card and I thought if you wanted decent capture that on card processing was the way to go. But with faster processessors perhaps this isn't the case anymore. Any experience or suggestions with this is appreciated!

    You might want to change the SUBJECT of this thread to include the card that you have because to the best of my knowledge it is not a very popular option ... doesn't mean it is a bad option ... just not popular.

    Plus most people think ATI when they see VIVO not a Nvidia card.

    So add, "MSI GeforceTI2" to your SUBJECT as it will attract more people who can be helpfull.

    I do know that the ATI cards that are both main video card and capture card all in one (mostly called AIW for All In Wonder but also called VIVO I think mostly in european markets for Video In Video Out) ... anyways ... I know the ATI cards function well so that is hopefull in that you have a similar kind of card but I know nothing of the specific card you have now.

    I don't recall seeing much talk of Nvidia VIVO cards when it comes to capturing and I read a lot of posts here so ... all I can say is good luck.

  4. Thanks for the reply and tip. Actually, I would think the ATI cards (the AIW's) would have onboard/oncard processing. Not sure if my old card does but I do know that it came with wincoder...

    VIVO = video in/video out
