I am in the process of picking out components to build a new video editing pc.
Is this a good choice for a DVD burner?

Really!!! They don't make their own DVD players?

Could you reccommend any specific models from the brands you mentioned above? And what exactly makes them better then the Sony brand?

Also, Cendyne, Asus, Sony, and Lite-on are the highest rated drives in the link you posted.....

    Thanks!

  5. I purchased this burner, and every disc that I have burned (prodisc, taiyo, Piodata, matrix, maxell), burned perfectly, but all give me read errors in dvdinfo. I was just curious if anyone else had any problems with this burner?

I just know that I will be taking this back tomorrow.

I've had excellent results with mine. I haven't run DVDinfo on the discs but may try it.

I've burned over a dozen types of media so far*and no coasters that were the burners fault.

    * even been able to burn some CompUSA princo 2x -R that never worked on other drives.
