    Hi Atanasov,

    Welcome to the forums.

Do you want to move video from your XM1 to your PC? What is "530H"?

If so, this is best done by using the firewire connection on the camera, a firewire cable, and a firewire card on your PC.

Good (and free) software to make the transfer is WinDV.

Sorry, without more or clearer information it's difficult to help more. I know English won't be your first language, but put more and we'll do our best to understand and help.

I think he/she (?) is saying they have a Pioneer 530H DVD Recorder and when a DV camera is connected via firewire, there is no camera control. Their old DVD recorder semed to do this OK.

So, I guess the call goes out to all Pioneer 530 owners . . . .

    Pioneer write myear Sir,

we discussed your problem with Japan. Probably your DVR-530 is not
    defective

(only way to find out is to check if other cameras (different brands/models
    )can be controlled
or check at a Dealer if another DVR-530 can also not control your camera)

but is the DVR-530 not compatible anymore with your Canon camera.
The DV specifications for DVR-3100 and DVR-530 are the same but the DVR-530
is using a different IEEE1394 link IC. It might be that this new IC doesn't
    support
    your cameracontrols.

    with best regards

Yes, try it with a different DV camera if you can. Otherwise my best guess is your DVR-530 has a defect and needs repair.

    Yes, it looks like that.

P.S. Your English is much better than my (our) Bulgarian!

    It sounds like the 530H doesn't support your camera. It is unlikely that a firmware update will change anything, given the earlier response form Pioneer. It appears your possible solutions include;

    1. Control the camera manually
    2. Exchange the DVDR for one that does support your camera
    3. Buy a new camera
    4. Use your PC for your DV work, not the DVDR

And you're also lucky to have a great cam - but that's only because I've got one too!
