    hello everyone,
i have captured some video from my camera and i have it uploaded on my computer. however, for some content i would like to add subtitles, which i create, to the video and be able to burn it onto whatever format i like, probably DVD. so the basic question is --> HOW CAN I CREATE SUBTITLES AND USE THEM IN MY VIDEO?
all posts are welcome, so happy posting.

  2. Creating subtitles:

Personally I use Subtitle Workshop to create subtitles - it supports many formats and lets you view the video in the top half of the screen while editing the subs and their timing at the bottom.
My format of choice is SRT

Playing an avi or mpeg video with subtitles on a PC is reasonably simple. Media Players like Zoomplayer or BSPlayer support separate subtitle streams very well. You can also install the Vobsub filter which can play subtitles automatically.

Now if you migrate your videos to video DVDs and want to include subtitles into the DVD video, you will need to convert your subs to SUP format. For that use the SRT2SUP utility. Once the subs are in SUP format you need to use a DVD authoring software that allows for subtitles, like DVD-Lab Pro for instance.

    Cheers

i have a question, how do i change the FONT of the subtitle, you know maybe to accomodate more text, or so that the type is smaller?

also, how do i save it as SRT format?

    thanks

You save as srt in Subtitle Workshop, file->save as or export.

You change fonts and size in the authoring tool, like dvd-lab pro(it can import srt), or if you convert to sup in subtitlecreator, srt2sup.
