  1. One of my Panasonic E80H recorders doesn't give the High Speed Recording option when recording from HDD to DVD. Occasionally, a message will come up that says "cannot high speed record this item" or words to that effect, but usually, that doesn't happen...only the regular recording speeds (and FR) are listed as options. This happens when wanting to dub programs of any length, some as short as 1 hour 5 minutes.
The recorder has only been in use for about 30 days. Any possible solutions or comments would be appreciated.

  2. Hi

    (1) Firstly you have to enable High Speed Recording in the unit's main settings. Refer to manual, it's quite easy to follow.

    (2) If you have already done that, the other thing I found out is that if u are dubbing using an edited playlist which contains tracks recorded in different formats then high speed is disabled. (however you can dub in high speed a series of playlists of different recording speeds, as long as EACH playlist contains only the same speed files)

I occasionally accidentally compile playlists with tracks of mixed speeds (eg XP and SP) and the message "unable to high speed" comes up. To fix this simple delete the files with different speed from your playlist.

If you are not using playlist then I don't know what the problem is apart from (1)

    Cheers
