  1. I tried installing Nero 6 Ultra and found these problems? I was able to use the Smart Start icon to easily burn DVD-Video files. I installed IN CD and Nerovision Express and the burn DVD-video files command has disappeared. I am also looking for to Make DVD-video files but that command does not come up..Is there a problem with the Nero Auto detect? I have a Pioneeor A06 dvd writer. Can some please help. I hate using TMPGEnc to encode avi's..Takes too long..

It re-encodes on its own if you throw something non-compliant at it, so it must have an encoding engine of some description. Whether it uses NVE, I don't know, but it can definitely re-encode.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Nero 6 Ultra can encode, but if accessed via the NeroVision 2 app.

I have Nero 6 Ultra. Some thoughts that might be usefull follow.

First do the upgrades, you will have a complete free revision (I think 6.5)

    - I rarely use Start Smart, I created Icons for the full Nero Burning Rom and NeroVision2. Those are the only programs I use normally.

    - Assuming you have created your Video_TS directory already, in Nero Burning Rom, select new, then DVD-Video. Then copy the files from your VideoTS directory to the one created for you and hit the button "burn the current compilation. If that button is grayed out, you may have copied your files to root instead of Video_TS. This is a common error.

    - If you haven't yet created a Video_TS folder then you need to start in Nerovision 2 which can edit your video, add menus and encode.

    Good luck.

  5. What I did was use TMPGenc to encode the Video portion and FFMPEGgui to convert the audio. I used TMPGenc DVD Author to make the VIdeo _TS folder. I then used Nero to burn it but there are 2 problems.

#1 finished DVD plays on my computer but not on my stand alone player. I burned it again and got the same results.

#2 In Nero 6, Smart Start the Burn DVD-Video files has disappeared.

I'm trying to find other ways to encode the Xvid file, to prevent problems encoding with TMPGenc Plus.

Go to Nero Express and use this guide.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    #1 try different media
find out what media works with your player here
    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

#2 The Smart Start Burn DVD-Video icon points to Nero Express where you can select DVD-Video

Better to use Start-Programs-Nero-Nero Express Ultra Edition-Nero Burning ROM <<<<<<make a shortcut
    select new and then DVD-Video
this will give you more control and many more options.
