G02,F02,R01 etc etc. What do they actually tell you about a disc? What is the difference between R03 and R04 for example,is one just newer than the other?
I tried to find it on the forum, but couldnt see anything regarding that.Is that code important besides the name of the actual disc-maker? If a disc was Ricoh-made,would it matter what that code was?
I was using DVD Identifier to check the different brands of discs that i have(and no surprise a lot of them are CMC-made,although having said that, the Philips-CMC's have been ok) but i just wanted to know what those codes mean, and if they are relevant to quality.
I just bought some Memorex +r's yesterday from Wal-Mart,and they turned out to be Prodisc R03 003(Made in Taiwan btw) which, from reading posts here,is better than the Hong Kong stuff that appears.
Also,i would like to know if there is a program like DVD Identifier that does the same for CD-r's
cheers,and Merry Xmas
