Why does this video look so clear?

I see some like this where even the non-HQ video looks really good. Any idea why?

Looks like 4:3 standard DV def (to flash) to me. Do I need to watch the whole thing?

The audio quality really sucks (not the performer).

Youtube re-encodes everything, so if you send a higher quality video, the end result will be higher quality

Also, there are differences in the two; there are more scene changes (usually require IDR-frames) and motion in #2 , both these require more bitrate to look the same "quality", therefore overall quality is worse in #2 for a given bitrate limit (I think YT limits to ~500kb/s)

Also, #2 is using an older spec and ~200kbps 320x240, #1 is using ~500kbps 480x360, so they are apples and oranges when comparing

#2 has been over compressed.
