Video Now (pvr players?)

Kids want this item for christmas, i am wondering if anyone knows if it is a kids version of a VCD player? the discs i have read about on the company's site that they are 4.25 discs. just wondering if i can write vcds to 4.25s and if they would work in this device.

A: The Personal Video Discs are a proprietary format and will not play on any other media player. However, VIDEONOW BLACK AND WHITE is compatible with VIDEONOW COLOR. You can watch all of your favorite VIDEONOW Black and White PVD's on your VIDEONOW COLOR Player in black and white.

Q: Can you use regular DVD's or CD's in the VIDEONOW COLOR player?
A: VIDEONOW COLOR will only work with VIDEONOW PVD's, black and white or COLOR. Regular DVD's or CD's will not work in the unit.

yes i understand that THEIR discs are specially made. and only playback on their machines, but my question is can i create say a vcd and have it play on this device (assuming i can find 4.25 discs).

There is like a 16 page discussion on how to do just that on this forum. Just do a search for hasbro video now conversion using the search function at the top of the page just make sure and check the button that says all forums.

They will probably want a portable DVD player next year anyway, so you might as well buy them one this year and play real DVDs instead of this kids junk.
