Identifying DTS in CloneDVD2

Can anyone tell me how I identify the DTS audio stream when using CloneDVD2/AnyDVD.

Clonedvd2 selects the main movie,which includes all the audio within.When you click next,You are given the option to check,or uncheck any audio and subtitles you want.I just checked a movie with dts and 5.1 and they both show up as options in the second window.

Can't say I've seen the two options previously so presumably I haven't had a DVD with DTS.

Can I take it that if I DON'T deselect the DTS audio stream then the final DVD will have this option?

Also, read somewhere that if the DVD has DTS you have to select the DTS audio, I think from the Language option of the movie, to play with DTS. Do you know if this is correct?

My amplifier/decoder has full DTS/Dolby Digital and I have the DVD player and amplifier/decoder connected with a digital coxial cable.

Just looked at a friends DVD with DTS and as you say it shows on the second screen (Stream preferences-Audio properties).

Under Audio channels the 2 and 6 channels are selected by default.

In Audio decoding both Dolby AC-3 and DTS are unchecked. Do I have to check these in order to have DTS on the final version?

You put a check make in the boxes of the audio and subtitles you want to keep.Only dvd's with dts will show dts as an option.When clonedvd reads the dvd,it will show all the available audio and subtitles on that dvd.Anything you leave unchecked will not appear in the final dvd.

Thanks for clarifying the situation.

I've never worried about the audio encoding options before, I've just left the 2 and 6 channels selected.

Given what you say, and the fact that I'm now seeing the options under audio encoding, I'm wondering what type of audio I've been writing in the past??

One other question if I may?

I usually deselect subtitles as I don't see the need if the language is set to English.

However, I've read somewhere recently (but can't find it now) that if parts of the dialogue are in a foreign language, then you need to select subtitles to have the translation displayed on screen.

I assume you would need to select English subtitles. Do you know if that's correct or is there anything else that needs to be done?

Yes you are correct.Some movies have parts that you might want to keep english subtiles.I believe Kill Bill was one of them. I've been caught before,where i didn't select english subtitles,and found out after there were a few spots in the movie where it would have normally shown up to translate dialogue.I don't normally keep subtitles unless i know i will need them,but i have been caught a few times wishing i did.

Mind you it's no always easy to know beforehand.

Hidalgo is another one to watch out for as it has quite a lot of Arabic dialogue.
