  1. Hi, guys,

Well, my TV capture card is finally working and I´ve started salvaging my old VHS tapes.
However, when I try to edit tham in VirtualDub (I´m not very friend of Power director), the only option is to save it as an AVI, which of course occupies LOADS of disk space.
Is there a possibility to save my mpeg2 captured media files as mpeg2 with Virtualdub?
    Help...

    Hi,

To do simple cutting/trimming of mpeg files use MPEG2VCR. Very good and fast.

    Enjoy!

yep, it's possible.....you have to use YMPEG as codec with it though. Bear with me while I gather some more info ...
    If in doubt, Google it.

Two birds with the one stone there:

    1. Buy YMPEG, configure it as your codec and it saves in MPEG2

    OR ...

    2. Frameserve to your favorite encoder.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. I have not tested YMPEG, so maybe that is good, but there is certainly no reason to save your file to AVI with V-dub. Just frameserve your edited footage out to your conversion tool and save a butt-load of HD space.
