Within the last month while converting from VHS to DVD, my Philips DVDR75 has begun brightening the lite colors so much that it becomes unwatchable. It has nothing to do with Macrovision, because I have a device to remove it - plus it's happening to tapes with no protection. What can I do to fix this problem ???

Does it have manual IRE controls?

I've had that problem,I think it's trying to beef up a week signal, I stopped that entirely by puting video clarifyer with a color enhancer that allows me to punch up the color a bit. Also you didn't mention your firmware version. I don't know if the newest would help that. I think it's FF15k.

No manual IRE controls
I've never updated the firmware - I tried once, but couldn't really figure out what I was doing
I may try the video clarifier/color enhancer idea - what brand do you use?
Thanks
