Just tried to copy spy kids 1 and got the following message
DVD SHRINK ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR AND CANNOT CONTINUE.
FAILED TO READ FILE "F:\"
COPY PROTECTION ERROR - THE READ FAILED BECAUSE THE SECTOR IS ENCRYPTED.
I've been using shrink 3.1.3 for ages and have never come across this before.
Just tried spy kids 2 ,reservoir dogs ,trainspotting and meet the parents and shrink comes up with the above message.
The funny thing is that I'm sure I have copied trainspotting a few months before with the same shrink program.
The things new to my pc are sp2 for windows xp and norton firewall/norton system works, Does thes cause any conflicts with shrink?
Any help would be great.

I have had this happen and few times and I concluded that Shrink's error message is incorrect. I found that the problem was due to a read error that Shrink incorrectly identifed as an encryption error.

Hello,
Use dvd decrypter in iso read mode. Then open the iso in dvdshrink and continue as normal.
If that doesn't work try another rippper/transcoder
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Thanks for the help.
But it turns out it was all due to the fact that I watched a region 1 DVD last. -
Also try turning off the option in preferences: File I/O>Use Nero to Burn Disc. Some versions of Shrink act strangely when this is turned on
