I am at wits end trying to find a program that can capture a vcd mpeg image for use as the cd cover image. What do ppl use? I am running XP if that helps. Most programs I try that do screen grabs give me black images where the mpeg image is on real or WM.
Thanks in advance.

I used STHSDVD. This is a VCD player. It allows you to snapshot any scene as you play it. Stretches the image a little but OK for Label.
It is a great program but will not play still photos well. -
There are many ways.
1. Load up the MPEG with a proggy like PowerDVD and play to the part you want to capture. Prese "C" to capture to clipboard. Paste in your favourite image editing program.
2. Load up your MPEG with VirtualDub. Go to the frame you want to capture. Then, in the toolbar, click on "Copy Source Frame". In the newer versions of VirtualDub, you can press "Ctrl+1" to do this as a keyboard shortcut. Paste in your favourite image editing program.
3. Load up your MPEG with Windows Media Player. In the options, set hardware acceleration to none. Then, when you get to the part you want to capture, press "Print Screen". Paste in your favourite image editing program.
Regards.
