    hi

i have a kworld capture card.
i installed the drivers of the card and the inter video winDVR to record video.
when I run inter video winDVR to record , a green screen appears and i can't see anything to record.

i'm having this problem in winxp sp2.

in winXP sp1 i didn't have this problem.

actually when i play recorded files by power DVD i can't see anything and again that green screen appears...

what should I do to disappear that green screen and see videos?

Everything I have seen in the recent past always points to an issue with your graphics display overlay settings ... But dont go any further into detail .

Strange , there are quite a few posts going back over time that never received any attention to this problem .

The only times I have seen this appear are :

A : Incorrect version of video drivers installed , not entirely compatable with installed video hardware .
B : An issue bound to codec / directshow fault .

The second is not for someone to just jump into ... wrong move , and you might be facing a complete reload of the operating system again .

Some tools that might help , when one knows how to use them correctly :

Filmerit , codec sniper , radLight filter manager , directshow filter manager .

    ----

I have snapshots from filmerit which show all the xp + sp2 system default values from a clean reinstall of the os just for troubleshooting such issues ... just got to add codecs not os connected to the list later .

    ----

The other triggers to watch for are :

    A: Poor install technique .
B: Bad installation of device .

    (A) starts off with :

1: Install software and in some cases , the software that came with device will install the device drivers .
2: Shut down pc , install device , reboot , os picks it up from there (may request drivers again)
3: When system says all ok , reboot prior to activating device .

    (B) is :

An example of a midi motherboard

==== (agp slot + onboard vid)
--- (pci1 = do NOT install any device here) ... shares resources with agp slot and onboard video .
    --- (pci2 , shares resources with pci3)
    --- (pci3 , shares resources with pci2)

This leaves a choice between pci2 or pci3 to install a pci capture device ... Only (1) may have a device installed .

There are RARE instances where this may be ignored , but it is highly recommend you dont , as conflict / damage to , may be the end result to device , and or , pc .

    ----

If A and B are correct , then the issue returns to the above .

The final one would be to check for updated drivers for the card from the manufacturer that fully support sp2 .

Kworld device could be anything ?

Take notice of id lables , and what is stamped on the major chipsets for proper identification ... most devices these days use FIC ID lable on the underside .
