Im trying to burn a DVD rom in nero 6 but there are a few differnet types. Which one is backward compatable with an old DVD Rom Drive. im using DVD-R discs.
DVD-ROM (ISO) * Doesn't work with my DVD-Rom Drive
DVD-ROM (UDF) *Doesn't work
DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO) *Doesn't work
Now im talking about my DVD-Rom drive here not my DVD Player movies burnt work fine in my DVD Player but not in my DVD-Rom drive.
My DVD-Rom drive is;
LG DRD 8102B
Ive tried PCLine DVD-R discs
BulkPaq DVD-R Discs
with the same result.
However i burned a dvd, in nero (DVD+R) but picked DVD9 and it worked in DVD Rom and DVD player
DVD9
UDF/ISO , DVD+R Worked OK
So why doesn't the DVD-R disc work? is it the make of the blank discs?
Please Help.

Use better DVD-R media. Have you tried burning in NERO BURN - DVD-VIDEO option? If I am not mistaken to burn DVD MEDIA you will need to use the DVD-VIDEO option.
make sure the boxes are unchecked as you see in the picture. the settings should be like in the picture.

mmmmmmm what mode is the dvd-rom working in,is it PIO mode or DMA mode?
Im saying this because by default winxp sets them up to run in PIO mode,so if it is uninstall the primary or the secondary channel of your ide controller(depending on what channel the dvd-rom is located on),restart and it will reinstall it for you and it should now be in DMA mode.

if you read my posts you would see that i have no problem burning DVD Movies (As they work in my DVD Player but not my DVD Rom. DVD+R Movies work in my DVD Rom and DVD Player however DVD-R media will not work in my DVD-Rom)
What makes things even more complicated is that i have DVD-R disc( a different brand) than the the bank DVd-R discs i have which is a DVD Movie that works in my DVD Player And DVD-Rom drive. work that out?
BTW why would uninstalling the VIA minport drivers have any effect over the problem? i have a Via chipset.
