If I posted this topic in the wrong forum, moderator please move it.

My friend borrowed me his camcorder and asked me to help her burning video files inside to a DVD disc. His camcorder is Canon FS100. The camcorder use SD card to store videos.

The camcorder record the videos in .MOD file format, and store the time stamp information in .MOI format with the file name same as the video file.

I want that there will be timestamp on videos on the DVD discs after burning, as preferred by my friend. Is this possible? How to do it?

The software bundled with the camcorder does not help much.

Both my friend and I are students with no income at all. If I'm required to use any software, any free version will be appreciated.

And, if I can make the time stamp as subtitle of the DVD, it will be great. Any ways of doing it?

Any reply will be seriously appreciated.

  2. i think you are pretty much out of luck with putting the moi timecode into the video. not any tools i know of can do it.

the .mod you can most likely just rename to .mpg and use to author a dvd. it's SD mpeg-2 already.

The only no-cost way that I know is to play your recording thru the camcorder, and record the output via the video-out.....either composite or S-Video.....the date stamp should be on-screen if you select to display it.

This is quite easy if you have a DVD recorder. Otherwise, you'd have to record into your computer.

This is an "analog" way, of course.
