  1. Remember I am a newbie.
    This is what I have:
    DVD Shrink 3.2
    Nero Burning Rom 6
Dell Dimension 8300 w. XP operating system
DVD player and burner standard with computer (if someone needs me to tell model and such, plz advise how to find)

I have burned several DVDs with the 3.2 version and everything has been hunky dory. The last two I have burned do not have voices yet have music and background noise.

The only thing that I know of that has changed is this:
When I burn a movie, I store each movie under it's own folder named after the title of the movie. Each movie folder is stored directly on my hard drive under a folder titled MOVIES. Because these take up so much space, I delete off as I get a movie burned and ensure that it plays well. Because this folder is such a space hog, I moved two files out to a temporary location to see if it would effect the burning of movies. Could this be it? The folders are VIDEO_TS and VTS_01_1.VOB. I never noticed them changing and could not figure out why they would be in the generic MOVIE folder instead of belonging to each individual movie. I am not the only one who burns things so I figured someone else let some files drop here.

If this is not the issue, please let me know any other thoughts you may have in newbie terminology. Thank you.

Put a folder on your hard drive that is named for the movie. Let DVDShrink put the folders IN that folder you created. You will find a VIDEO_TS and an AUDIO_TS folder IN that folder created and named by you.
Burn those two (VIDEO_TS and an AUDIO_TS) folders and you should be good to go. The AUDIO_TS folder will be empty but you must use it anyway.
I don't have Nero...maybe someone else can chime in from here.
OR you could have DVDShrink create an ISO Image and let DVDDecrypter burn that for you....your choice.

Also...check to see if your DVD player can play 5.1 or something other than 2 channel(stereo) audio.

  3. I direct the DVD Shrink software to place all burned files into the movie folder. For instance, for Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas all files go to the Fear Loathing folder under MOVIES on my hard drive. And then DVD Shrink starts the burn process for me after backing up.

By the way, I just tried changing Audio while watching the movie and
English 2.0 Dolby Digital Surround Sound has background music and noise but no voices
English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound has no background music, noise or voices
English DTS 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound has background music and noise but no voices
