  1. i made a dvd with dvd lab. Should i use Dvd lab to burn the actual dvd or do i use Nero 6 instead and burn the video and audio ts folders? Or does it matter as far as reliability is concerned?

  2. I use Nero to burn everything and it always works. Your mileage may vary.

  3. Hey Matt do you use dvd lab, TMPg dvd aurthor or another aurthoring program. Aurthor (tmpg) seems easier

  4. Yes I use both and Gui for DVD Author. TMPGEnc is my #1 when it comes to getting my video onto a disc quickly without any issues. As far as software goes it's some of the best, I only wish it was a little less restrictive in menu creation. Hopefully they will releaese newer versions to fix this.
Gui lets you do more with menus and layout, but is still pretty easy. DVD-lab is great in that it allows quite a lot of creativity, but it's kind of unstable. It will crash and hang on occasion. Compatibility is an issue sometimes. For the price though, it's pretty cool.

  8. I'm guessing that you did not set the path correctly in the "def settings" area. Browse to the folder that GUI is installed in and browse to the "BIN" folder within. There should be a file called "dvdauthor.exe" in there and that's what you want to point to.

  10. Ok, I should have pointed out that there are two programs. DOH! Anyway there is DVD Author GUI and GUI for DVD Author. You have number two right, but not number one, which has the programs like dvdauthor.exe and spumux.exe. You can get it here:
    https://www.videohelp.com/~liquid217/dvdauthorgui.pl?p=download
or just by clicking through the auto-link above.
After downloading this you can extract the BIN folder to wherever you want it to be and point the path settings in GUI for DVD Author at it. Hopefully you will be all set. It worked for me anyway!
