    I need a divx codec so i can make mpeg files from my divx videos
    to tmpgenc and you cant do that without a codec ????

    i have found it but how do i get it to work with tmpgenc
    do i copy it into it ?

    The easy way to do this is frameserve the divx file as avi to TMPGEncPlus.

    If you can watch the source files, then you do not need a codec.

    You just install the codec. It becomes part of your systems "video capabilities". If correctly installed (and correctly set up TMPGEnc ) TMPGEnc will read the DivX AVI thru the DivX codec automatically. If you have installed the codec but TMPGEnc still can't read the DivX AVI, Look here

    You install the codec by running it. That will copy the necessary files to the proper location. Then just run TMPGEnc and open the Divx AVI files.
