mpg to burn to dvd

well I am less than a newbiee. I downloaded a movie which was an AVI file, I used cucusoft to make it an mpg. file. I can play either on the computer it works fine, would like to know how to burn it to a dvd?? I tried dvdsanta and it will not work in my dvd player. Is there a sinple program that i can use to burn a dvd from mpg format, or do I have to use something first to convert it to something else. I spent about 30 hrs on it so far. I also tried dvd decryptor. Any help will be great, ready to kill wife and kids and neighbors.

try tmpgenc dvd author, add the mpg and optional menus and author and burn. or click on Author here to the left in the hidden menu or click Tools and dvd author.

Thanks for the information, I downloaded it and when I go to the end it says it encountered a problem. It says current bitrate is 9800kbps audio 224 kbps combined 10024 kbps. combined cannot be more than 9848 kbps. How do I lower the numbers, so it will work. Thanks

Ignore it and author. It might work anyway, tmpgenc might get the bitrate wrong.
