I have an avi file I'm trying to convert to dvd. I encoded it with it's original audio stream but I'd like to get the second one encoded as well. Is there any I can extract the second one and then encode it or just encode it from the avi file?

If the 2nd audio is also in the AVI, you can use VirtualDubMod to extract it.
Convert it to an audio format supported by your authoring app (and make sure your authoring app supports multiple audio streams).

I don't have VDubMod here, but look under Audio, Stream list. It should list all available audio streams. Select the one you want, and demux.

In virtualdubmod underr streams->streams list select demux or save to wav. Convert to mp2 or ac3 with ffmpeggui and author with something like dvdauthorgui, dvd-lab pro, ulead dvd workshop(they support several audio tracks).
