    Hi,

Which other software do you know for LIVE streaming to Flash Media Server? It should run as an application on top of Windows XP and be able to encode Flash V6 video in size of 760x570 with at least 20 and up frames per second. Hardware is BlackMagic Intensity Pro capture card.

    Until now I have tried:

    1. Flash Media Live Encoder - could not encode with higer frame rate than 11-12 fps only for this size of video.
    2. Wirecast - can encode nicely with 30fps, but image is kind of foggy and with less colors
    3. VLC - no option to crop video, and not very stable

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Tried some more:

    1. Flash Media Live Encoder - could not encode with higer frame rate than 11-12 fps only for this size of video.
    2. Wirecast - can encode nicely with 30fps, but image is kind of foggy and with less colors
    3. VLC - no option to crop video, and not very stable
    4. Flix Live Encoder - totally useless, can't choose any settings like bitrate, size, not talking about cropping
    5. Flix Pro - can encode and choose all settings, but can't stream, how stupid is this?
    6. Sorenson Squeeze - only possible to stream to specific locations like Akamai, but not to specific IP address

Looks like most of the products either encode, transcode, but does not stream. And the ones what stream, are not able to do any serious encoding.

    Any more ideas?

I'm using VLC to stream and it works but as you say it may not be very stable. You can try older versions and it might work better. I'm using version 0.8.6h and use h264 video and aac audio and streaming to flash media server(wowza). And yes it can crop, but you have to add it manually.

    VLC and Wowza, http://www.wowzamedia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1350

Can VLC do rtmp as well, as this is needed for FMS? I see some talks in forums, but it doesn't seem to be supported.
